Few years ago when I was in university we received an assignment to prepare a speech about any topic of interest, it just had to be in Arabic language (we were foreigners learning Arabic). We studied a lot, many of my classmates had difficulties with memorizing huge amounts of information, so witnessing nervous breakdowns was something usual for us. What I am about to tell you was the topic of my choice. It was fun to look at faces of students as they were listening, some of them were completely astonished and excited to try my trick, while others (including the teacher) had a puzzled look, they definitely thought I was nuts!

I am not an inventor of this trick, it was practiced long before I came into this world. The legend says that ancient Greek poet called Simonides was invited to a banquet to recite his soliloquy. Shortly after he left the place, the roof caved in, killing everyone inside. The bodies were so disfigured that they could be no longer identified. The authorities called Simonides in hope he could remember at least some of the people who were there. To their surprise, he named each person who was there. Moreover, he remembered their location in the room.

This memorizing technique was named Roman Room method probably because of Cicero, the Roman orator, who was famous for using it too. He was known for being able to recite volumes of information by mentally placing ideas on the chairs instead of people.

Building your own Roman room is easy, just needs a little preparation and practice. You mentally number corners, walls, floor and ceiling of room that you know very well in a certain order, which is not to be changed after that. Then you take first word, or idea that is on your list and somehow associate it with whatever it is in position 1, which is first left corner as you enter the room. The stranger is the association the better. Strange, funny, ridiculous associations are remembered even better.

I have a blog were I teach some tricks of success in business and relationships. Here are the first ten:

Trick 1: Keep Silent. Ok, how this can be associated with first left corner of my room? Let us say I have a reclining chair there. So I can imagine a poor guy tied to this chair with scotch tape on his mouth.

Trick 2: Work on Your Mind – Peace of Mind Is Not Your Goal. In position two, which is the wall right after that left corner I have bookshelves. This is easy – books associate with mind very well. We can add a sword on the top of the bookshelves as a symbol of war, which is the opposite of peace.

Trick 3: Learn to Manipulate. Position three is next corner after the bookshelves and I have a fireplace there. Let’s imagine a sly fox as a symbol of manipulation sitting on the top of the fireplace giving me a lesson on cunning.

Trick 4: Break the Patterns. Fine, this goes to position four, which is the wall just face to the entrance. I have a window there. My window is just a simple window, but since I have great imagination, it is not difficult to imagine some oriental design (I live in Lebanon after all!) that is damaged by a shotgun bullet.

Trick 5: Look Outwards Rather Than Inwards. Piece of cake! Position five is the corner to the right from the window. There is a chair there, I will throw a binocle on it.

Trick 6: Be Mysterious. Position six is for TV, so I can mentally imagine the movie about someone dark smoky and mysterious, Zorro for example.

Trick 7: Face Your Fears. Position seven is the corner to the right when you enter. Let’s say you are afraid of snakes and you have a lamp table there. So imagine a cute toy snake right on the table.

Trick 8. Be Flexible. This is for the wall where the door is (just right where we entered) so I can imagine a flexible wire around the door knob.

Trick 9. Rely on Yourself. Point nine is my floor. I see myself in the role of a blacksmith. I am shaping the iron with anvil and hammer to earn my living right in the middle of the room!

Trick 10. Avoid Miserable. Huge photo of my friend who loves nagging more than eating on the ceiling!

Repeat a couple of times. Congratulations, you are done! Now you will never forget your list and you won’t mess up the order, all because of silly sly fox teaching you cunning tricks!

Ironically, to memorize better and easier, you need to memorize more. Once you’ve done the preparation, that is assigning numbers to different locations, things become easy, you just need a little creativity. Your room becomes your mental drawer you can use even when you are not at home. Moreover, you will be easily able to recite the points starting from anywhere in the middle or even in the back order, which is hard to achieve if you memorize just by repeating the information. As you get accustomed to the use of this technique you can use more than one room for longer lists, as well as imaginary rooms that don’t exist outside of your mind.

So, do you think I am nuts too?

The famous University of Pennsylvania is situated in the city of Philadelphia in the state of Pennsylvania in the country of the United States of America. The University of Pennsylvania is one of the few universities of the US that came into being at about the same time the country was established. As a result, the University of Pennsylvania boasts of a rich history. It is a reputed University and is part of the prestigious Ivy League group of universities. Benjamin Franklin, who was an important citizen of Philadelphia when Philadelphia and Pennsylvania were in their earliest stages of development, is credited with being the founder of the University. He was a student of the University himself. Franklin initiated several progressive reforms in the College of Philadelphia – that was the name of the University then – so that the College became one of the main seats of higher learning of the New World.

Aim, Goal, Motto

The University used the great Roman poet, Horace’s work to devise its motto. The English translation of the Latin words (composed by Horace), the University represented in its motto were: ‘of what avail empty laws without good morals?’ These words were changed gradually over the years. The present motto is: ‘laws without morals are useless.’ This is only a slight modification of Horace’s original words. As the University of Pennsylvania, also known as the University of Penn, proudly proclaims that ‘laws without morals are useless’, it should examine its own laws and morals thoroughly. Can the University be so cocksure of its own laws and morals?

Studies

The University of Pennsylvania is celebrated for its many departments or schools such as its School for Engineering and Applied Science, School of Nursing, College of Arts and Sciences and ‘The Wharton School’, the well-known B-School of the world. The University of Pennsylvania is eminent for encouraging its students to pursue multidisciplinary careers. The University urges its students to study for more than one degree at a time and to pursue majors in subjects that are not commonly studied. It also allows a great degree of flexibility in its course curricula so that students with children and working students can study comfortably at the University.

The University of Pennsylvania is home to several graduate schools as well where students pursue graduate courses, professional courses and research programs. Some of these schools are the University of Pennsylvania Law School, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Science, and other schools.

Admissions

The University of Pennsylvania observes very strict admission procedures just to show that it is a great university and that it admits none but the best. It generally admits only 16% of the total number of applicants who apply to the University. It ensures that those it admits have secured top places in their respective high schools. Only 60% to 65% of the admitted candidates actually get through the stiff courses of the University and receive degrees. The University of Pennsylvania is ranked as one of the first 10 most difficult universities to secure admissions in, in the whole of the US.

On the whole, the University is also a seat of egotism apart from learning and higher education. Because it ranks within the top ten universities of the country, it thinks the world of itself. It automatically infuses its vanity into its students who think greatly of themselves when they graduate from the University. The students of the University of Pennsylvania feel that they have the right to demand respect from people who are ordinary and who are not so successful. It is sad that the more meritorious students are, the more haughty they become.

Life at the University of Penn

There is no doubt about the fact that the campus of the University is well-laid-out and beautiful. Apparently, the architects of the University had copied the architectural styles of Oxford and Cambridge, famous universities of England, when designing the University of Pennsylvania. The entire University campus comprises imposing Gothic edifices. However, some modern looking buildings have also cropped up in the campus during the last couple of years. The University of Pennsylvania boasts of some fifteen libraries and millions of books. The museum of the University of Pennsylvania showcases countless relics and artifacts to all its visitors. These exhibits are extremely ancient and belong to the Egyptian, Chinese, Mesopotamian, and Persian civilizations. Some of the statues and objets d’art on display also belong to the Latin American civilizations. The museum employs the talents of scientists in order to decipher inscriptions on and find out the ages of its various exhibits. The Institute of Contemporary Art in the campus of the University of Pennsylvania hosts several expositions throughout the year.

Like most American universities, the University of Pennsylvania allows students to lodge within its premises during their freshman year. Once, they become juniors and sophomores, they move out of the University campus and take up residences in the vicinity of the University.

Students of the University of Pennsylvania are typically impertinent but brilliant in their studies. Several Asian students apply to the University of Pennsylvania to secure seats in the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs, year after year.

The students are members of various student bodies, most of which espouse causes that appeal to the students.

Like most American universities, the University of Pennsylvania encourages its students to participate in sports and sporting activities such as soccer, rugby and basketball.

The University of Pennsylvania is pretty illustrious for being a seat of action. The University of Pennsylvania is one of the few universities of the US that is known for its liveliness and verve.

The University of Pennsylvania is a really good place to study and do research in. Hats off to the University of Pennsylvania for being one of the best universities of the United States of America!

Wiley CPA Review Series is one of the most popular CPA exam preparation materials out there: The Wiley CPA exam prep books are readily available in major bookstores around the country, as well as online.

But the most important question for you is: Is Wiley CPA Review good enough for you to pass the CPA Exam? What are the considerations when choosing Wiley vs Becker and other competitors? Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of this program.

Pros

1. Very Impressive Software. Officially known as the Wiley CPA Exam review test Bank CD, this practice test preparation in CD format is a must for every CPA candidate.

First of all, the format is convenient to use and highly organized: 2,000 multiple choices and simulations are included in the “test bank”, together with guidelines, pointers and tips on how to build knowledge in a local and reinforcing way. Interesting features include:

* The “study mode” that you can structure and monitor your practice study based on your own objectives.
* Diagnostic feature that helps you self-evaluate and find out your own strongest and weakest areas.
* Question status (e.g. “not seen before”, “answered incorrectly”) is marked for every question so you know how and where you should concentrate your efforts.

2. It’s Cheap! The Wiley textbook and/or software is the most affordable you can ever find for your CPA exam preparation. The Wiley CPA exam classic guide, which gives you a detailed outline, study guidelines, questions and answers, costs $45-55 for each section. The wonderful Wiley practice test prep CD costs $79 for each section — dirt cheap in the world of CPA exam review courses and guides.

3. Materials Most Up-To-Date. Since Wiley does not hold any CPA exam review courses (neither live classes nor guided review on DVD), the publisher is able to focus all its energy in researching and updating its book and CDs on a very frequent basis. Also, the sheer volume of text books sold makes annual renewal of materials affordable for Wiley, thus keeping the cost low.

Cons

1. The Book Reads Like A Dictionary. Don’t let the colorful cover fool you — the whole book is in newspaper print! The font is small and the format is not user-friendly, to say the least. For example, the questions straddle between pages and you have to flip back and forth to get the answers, which could get very annoying especially when you don’t have a lot of time each day to study for the exam.

2. The Book Overprepares You. This is another nightmare for CPA candidates. Wiley CPA review does a good job in covering everything, but the problem is that it covers too much. While other CPA review courses do the extra job of sifting through the most important concepts for you, Wiley lets you decide, which could be a very time consuming and discouraging process.

3. No Guidance. It is clear that Wiley is not a guided review, which means that you’ve got to have the discipline to schedule your study time and finish the reading, multiple choices and simulation questions on time.

My Recommendations

If you are the type of person that can lock yourself in a room and crank out practice tests for hours, and that you know the accounting concepts very well, Wiley CPA review is great for you.

Otherwise, you may want to consider the following guided review that uses Wiley books and practice test CDs: Yaeger CPA review is a DVD course that guides you how to get the most out of the Wiley materials. This program has an excellent track record with 88% passing rate for first-time candidates, which means that almost 9 out of 10 students can pass the CPA exam on their first attempt. You can find out the pros and cons of Yaeger CPA review here.

Pick the best CPA review course for you is one of the most important steps to pass your CPA exam. Best of luck to you!

Stephanie shares her experience in planning, studying and passing her CPA exam on her first attempt at IPassTheCPAExam.com.

There are eight US Presidents that have graduated from Harvard. Five of the eight got their undergraduate degrees at Harvard while the other three received graduate level degrees in either business or law.

The eight US Presidents that went to school at Harvard are:

1. John Adams – 2nd President of the United States (Harvard class of 1755)
2. John Quincy Adams – 6th President of the United States (Harvard class of 1788)
3. Rutherford B. Hayes – 19th President of the United States (Harvard Law class of 1845)
4. Theodore Roosevelt – 26th President of the United States (Harvard class of 1880)
5. Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) – 32nd President of the United States (Harvard class of 1904)
6. John F. Kennedy (JFK) – 35th President of the United States (Harvard class of 1940)
7. George Walker Bush – 43rd President of the United States (Harvard Business class of 1973)
8. Barack Obama – 44th President of the United States (Harvard Law class of 1991)

Rutherford B. Hayes (law school), George W. Bush (business school), and Barack Obama (law school) are the three men that have received graduate degrees and not undergraduate degrees from Harvard before going on to become President of the United States of America.

With eight alumni boasting the privilege of holding the highest office in the land Harvard has the high water mark when compared to any other university. In fact, the only group that has put more people in the White House is the not so prestigious grouping of US Presidents that did not attend college at all, of which there are nine.

The nine US Presidents that never enrolled in college are:

1. George Washington (1st President)
2. Andrew Jackson (7th President)
3. Martin Van Buren (8th President)
4. Zachary Taylor (12th President)
5. Millard Fillmore (13th President)
6. Abraham Lincoln (16th President)
7. Andrew Johnson (17th President)
8. Grover Cleveland (22nd President)
9. Harry S. Truman (33rd President)

Of the nine names listed immediately above the most curious to onlookers is probably that of Harry Truman who despite having high schools and a college named after him (Truman State University) Truman has the unique distinction of being the only twentieth century President to never go to college. President Truman was a two term Democrat President that was in office from 1945 to 1953 and will in all likelihood go down in history as the last man to hold the title of leader of the free world without a college diploma. The story of why Harry Truman did not attend college is because his poor eyesight kept him from attending West Point and financial constraints due to his modest upbringing preventing him from pursuing a degree anywhere that he would have to produce tuition.

Harry Truman became arguably the most influential twentieth century US President despite never receiving a degree from Harvard or anywhere else and perhaps instead of that seeming like a fluke it should serve as motivation to all folks that regardless of college admission letters and financial means any American can make a difference.

Rick finds alumni classifications fascinating and thinks it’s particularly interesting to ponder how many people in the oval office have put Harvard University wallpaper on the desktop background of a computer that sat on the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. The answer to that question is probably somewhere from zero to two and in all likelihood is zero as Obama and George W both just went to grad school at Harvard.

If putting up Harvard University computer wallpaper is something of interest to readers of this article they are encouraged to visit Rick’s website to check out a wide assortment of choices. In fact, that offer stands for all colleges and not just Harvard.

How many times have you been asked to do a presentation or take a seminar? Those who are familiar with such presentations and seminars know that it is a tough job. For taking a seminar you need to collect information about your topic, make presentations comprising all the key points of your research, and present them in front of your audience who are keen to ask doubts. Collecting information has now become an easy task with the wide use of internet. Now you can access, download and modify data anywhere around the globe.

Are you an engineering student who is looking for a seminar topic to present? Or looking for a good project to execute in your final year? Being and engineering graduate I know the difficulty associated with presenting a seminar in front of your professors and colleagues. In your busy academic year, you hardly have the time to invest in making a good presentation or even in choosing an interesting topic. And when the deadline for your presentation is over and you are sweating in the seminar hall with your presentation which is missing many vital points, you will be wishing you had some source to obtain a ready made seminar data.

The last one year saw the development of many websites offering seminar topics and other presentation materials to engineering students. And most of them are administered by engineering students, may be for helping out their fellow juniors from the trouble of making a seminar or making a little income through pay per click programs. Whatever the reason may be, these websites are good sources of information. You can search these websites for seminars and presentations on various engineering topics like electronics, mechanical, computer science, medical engineering etc. These websites offer data that are down-loadable for free. These are ready made presentations which you can either modify if you want or directly present in front of your audience. These websites make the tiring job of preparing for a seminar very simple.

But like everything this too has a bad side. The down-loadable seminars offered by these websites are either been presented by other students of the previous years or are directly copied and sorted from other websites. Though they help to make a quick presentation, the quality of the content and its accuracy are questionable. Also is it expected from an engineering student to do a presentation that is not really his own? No, what is expected from him is to find resources, modify them, learn them and then present them. People attend seminars to learn something new, not to discover what is already discovered. Especially for a final year project, students have to come up with their own ideas, not someone else’s. Having easy availability of ready made seminars and presentations cease their ability to research and question, the essential qualities which are expected from engineers. It is these abilities that make people engineers and help them to invent something new, or modify what was already invented.

But on the bright side these materials are a good source of information. They contain various presentations taken in different colleges and universities all around the globe, which otherwise would be very difficult to access. Since most of them were already presented, they will be containing all the data you need to prepare for your presentation. You can download all the data you need, study them, make your own changes, create points, add something of your own and present them. This will reduce the pain of research and at the same time helps you to present a credible seminar.

Brown University has the distinct misfortune of consistently receiving the worst ranking amongst Ivy League schools in the highly regarded US News and World Reports rankings that are released annually. In the Best Colleges 2010 edition Brown came in at the number sixteen overall spot in terms of the most highly prized category of National Universities Rankings. For the 2010 rankings Brown finished one spot behind fellow Ivy League school Cornell University. Unfortunately for the good folks at Brown being affiliated with such a prestigious group as the Ivy League means accepting the reality that when competing in an objective ranking system with such highly regarded institutions at least one member will have to come in last place.

Being a top twenty American university (and in this specific instance a top sixteen university) is certainly no small feat. In fact, the case can easily be made that all of the top tier schools are outstanding institutions of higher education that provide tremendous resources for the brightest students on the planet. Parents all over the world would love to be able to give their children the opportunity to attend the top universities in America.

Brown University, located in Providence Rhode Island, has a storied history that dates back to pre-Revolutionary War days in a time before the United States of America even existed. Founded in 1764 by Baptist, Brown University has been both a proud member of the Colonial Colleges (recognizing the nine oldest North American institutions of higher learning) and the Ivy League which formally adopted the Ivy title only as recently as 1954 to distinguish the athletic conference in which eight academically focused members compete.

The eight schools that make up the Ivy League along with their 2010 US News and World Report ranking are:

1. Harvard University (tied for number 1: 2010 US News and World Report rank),
2. Princeton University (tied for number 1: 2010 US News and World Report rank),
3. Yale University (number 3: 2010 US News and World Report rank),
4. University of Pennsylvania (number 4: 2010 US News and World Report rank),
5. Columbia University (number 8: 2010 US News and World Report rank),
6. Dartmouth College (number 11: 2010 US News and World Report rank),
7. Cornell University (number 15: 2010 US News and World Report rank), and finally
8. Brown University (number 16: 2010 US News and World Report rank).

As evident by the co-number one spots (this year Harvard and Princeton) there are ties in the rankings. Also of note is the fact that clearly the Ivy League schools do not simply make up the entire list from positions one through eight. Sprinkled throughout the top sixteen spots are well respected non-Ivy League schools like:

* Stanford (number 4: 2010 US News and World Report rank),
* Duke (number 10: 2010 US News and World Report rank),
* Washington University in St. Louis (number 12: 2010 US News and World Report rank), and
* Johns Hopkins University (number 14: 2010 US News and World Report rank) among others.

Over the past ten years the US News and World Report rankings for Brown University have fluctuated while remaining in the teens during the last decade. Although Brown holds a ranking enviable by the vast majority of schools the position in the back of the Ivy League pack has led to some schools (like Brown) questioning the importance and validity of the rankings.

In terms of addressing the concern as to the importance of these national rankings the only assertion that can be stated with absolute certainty is that no one knows exactly how big of a role these rankings play in terms of influencing which schools top students choose to attend. In an ideal world all students would have unlimited resources and the ability to become intimately familiar with the curriculum and environment of every college before making informed decisions about which settings best suit their personalities and meet their needs. The reality is that this utopia simply will never exist and for most prospective freshmen the closest they will get to understanding what programs are available is through what they learn in publications like the annual US News and World Reports rankings. While schools that are less than satisfied with their current ranking are more than happy to argue that the rankings are irrelevant the truth of the matter that these schools are at best in denial about the influence these rankings have on highly competitive teens that have been raised in an environment that instills a mentality of constantly striving for the highest grades and best test scores.

Regardless of how parents, students, or admissions offices feel about ranking colleges there are two points that are clearly indisputable:
(1) the debate over the ability of these rankings to accurately measure subjective issues will continue for quite some time and
(2) these rankings are here to stay.

Kim is not ashamed to admit that she did not attend one of the illustrious Ivy League schools. Kim has a lot of brilliant friends that went to Brown and regardless of what the editors at US News and World Reports say she knows that everyone she has ever met that went to the school was quite brilliant. Kim’s friends show off Brown University wallpaper on their Macbooks without any concern whatsoever about where their Alma mater was most recently ranked compared to the other Ivy League schools. Kim would like to invite anyone that proudly went to college in Providence and called themselves a Bear to check out her website for Brown University desktop wallpaper. In fact, the invitation is extended to everyone regardless of where their school falls on the US News and World Report ranking system.

The American Council on Education released a report towards the end of August, 2009, on the basis of which, the new GI Bill could increase the number of veterans along with active-duty servicemen who get full-time enrollment and take classes of four-year college institutions.

The report derives its results from current attitudes of veterans as revealed from a number of government studies. In the educational year of 2007/2008, undergraduate veterans and servicemen who gained federal tuition perquisites were 15% more expected to attend college on a full time basis and 9% expected to attend a 4-year public college as compared to veterans and service men who did not gain the tuition benefits in any way. The report shows that in the same educational year, 43% of veterans and the servicemen attended 2-year public colleges, whereas 21% took classes in 4-year public institutions. Astonishingly, a stunning 13% part of the enrollment was into the private for-profit and non-profit colleges.

According to a survey, nearly half of the fresh veterans and servicemen referred to college tuition and fees as a highly influential factor in making choice for college enrollment. The GI Bill provides veterans of the wars of Afghanistan and Iraq with sufficient assistance to get enrollment in the most classy state universities and colleges.

The report, which derives its data from numerous government studies, bases its results on the understanding of recent veterans. In 2007-8, undergraduate veterans and service members who gained federal tuition benefits were 15 percentage points more anticipated to get full time enrollment in college and nine percentage points more likely to enroll in a four-year public college as compared to veterans and service members who did not earn the benefits. That year, around 43 percent of veterans and service members got enrolled in two-year public colleges, while 21 percent attended four-year public institutions. Private for-profit and nonprofit colleges both had around a 13-percent share of the enrollment.

Another government study shows that about half of recent veterans and service members surveyed referred to cost as a key factor in determining the college they want to attend. The new GI Bill, which was implemented on August 1, offers veterans of the wars of Iraq and Afghanistan with sufficient assistance to get enrollment in the most classy state universities and colleges.

According to Alexandria Walton Radford, the author of the report, these prolonged benefits are expected to push veterans to look for admission into more costly colleges chiefly if those institutions show openness to their demands.

As open as the report was, it fails to consider the influence that the prolonged tuition benefits could have on enrollment in private institutions and at the same time doesn’t take into account of any issues confronted by veterans transitioning into the education network; neither does it extend proposals as to the way colleges can be turned into more “veteran-friendly”.

College is a place to study, this is the first thought that comes to everyone. But, this definition not complete. Several elements are put together and a mixture of all those together is termed as college. It is a platform which brings people from different countries, cultures and traditions together. As we know India is a country with varied cultures and traditions, we get to meet people from different cultures and with different interests. We learn many new things apart from the basic education that is a part of the syllabus.

Education is definitely an important criterion, I agree with this statement, but apart from it there are many other things to learn. A complete education is to have knowledge about things around us and also about the happenings in the world. All this knowledge does not come from our syllabus; this comes by binding with different people.

College looks colorful with different kinds of people from all over the country and also from all over the world. This is a good exposure and experience to each and every student. There are many things that a student come across in ones college life which makes them easy to live in any kind of environment and with any kind of people. Many students completely ignore their studies and concentrate on their enjoyment. But, the fact is that enjoyment and seriousness together makes ones college life a success.

Everyone might have come across the saying “knowledge is power”. This knowledge is attained from college. It is a turning point in every student’s life which is like a double edged sword. Enjoyment and studies go hand in hand. College life ones gone, never comes back. So, we must maintain a balance between all the elements in college. This is the success secret of many successful students at college.

Studying in a college has become very common these days and many people are moving in this kind of education. There are websites available for each of them to make your search easier. Check out my blog, collegeanduniversitynews.info for a lot of information to gather on this!

The University of Delhi or DU was established in 1922 in India. At that time, there are only three colleges in Delhi, St. Staphens College that was founded in 1881, the Hinu College founded in 1889 and the Ramjas College founded in 1917, which was affiliated to the Delhi University. When DU started it only has three colleges with two faculties (Arts and Sciences) and just a number of 750 students.

It is known to be one of the prominent universities in India and is considered among the largest universities in the world with students exceeding to more than 300,000. It a pride of India since it offers high standards in teaching and research.

Wishing to cope with the demand, in early seventies it initiated a new organization pattern which was based on the multi-campus concept. South Camus started in year 1973 with postgraduate programs in some departments of the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences in a rented building. The construction of the East and West Campus followed then. The former is developed with the University College of Science while the West Campus will have an eye on Engineering and Technology.

The current Chancellor of the university is the Vice-President of India and Deepak Pental is the Vice Chancellor. Its former Vice Chancellors are: Dr. Hari Singh Gour which was the first Vice Chancellor and founder of University of Sagar, Professor Moonis Raza, Professor Singh and Professor Saroop Singh.

The University is also known for its distinguished alumni and faculties. The faculties of DU includes: Arts, Ayurvedic and Unani Medicine, Commerce and Business Studies, Education, International Discipline and Applied Science, Law, Management Studies, Mathematical Sciences, Medical Sciences, Music and Fine Arts, Social Studies, Technology and Undergraduate Courses. But the faculties in Economics, English, Science and Hindustani Classical Music are the most the popular.
At present there are more than 80 colleges under the University of Delhi. The university is equipped with modern facilities that cater to the needs of every student. It has amenities in order to provide comfort to the students as well as to the school administrators and faculties. A bank and a post office are present in the school premises. There is also a Railway Reservation Counter and a D.T.C Bus Pass for the use of the University community. The University built Guest House that can be used by the University staff and administrators to house their guests. There is also a fine Coffee House that provides mouth watery foods. The University employees run the University Cooperatives that sells everyday items on discounted prices. Comprehensive health services are being provided by the WUS Health Center of the University. Other facilities are the Computer Center, University Science Instrument Center and the University Press.

The University has a very large population of students. However it is able to give the best services to all its students. The University made it a point to make their students active both in academic and non-academic subjects. It has a very active sports program that has updated facilities in basketball, archery, cricket, swimming and many more. Each college is required to have a Sport Program and because of hard work and dedication some of its students were proved to be outstanding in national and international levels. Delhi University also organized a Culture Council to promote cultural activities. DU believed that student governance is a vital part in a student’s life; they helped students organized a student council called Delhi University Students Union (DUSU).

It is no wonder why the Delhi University has been considered one of the best universities there is. It’s a university that would surely give a gigantic stepping stones for great success to their devoted students!
